PowerUP! Competition: Classes

Content: The classes are designed to help you create a business plan, make financial projections, develop a marketing strategy and make business presentations. Each class will also offer an overview of library resources that can help with your research. Powerpoint presentations for the classes will be posted in May.

Times: An evening session from 6 - 7:45 pm and a morning session from 9:00 - 11:00 am is offered for each class. See schedule below.

Attendance: Three of the four classes must be attended by the applicant, or if you are a team, the primary or secondary member. EVERYONE MUST TAKE THE CLASS ON FINANCIAL STATEMENTS. All team members are welcome to participate and you may choose to attend four classes.

Previous Participants: As a contestant who has previously participated in PowerUP! you may take classes outside of those offered at the Business Library. If you do, please make sure to submit, with your business plan, an attendance verification form.

Location: Brooklyn Public Library Business Library auditorium at 280 Cadman Plaza West or the auditorium of St. Francis College, 180 Remsen Street. Both are in downtown Brooklyn.

Registration: Only individuals who have submitted an application are eligible to attend. Once you have received a letter of acceptance, please register by calling 718.623.7000 and pressing option 4. The classes are listed below.
