Central Library : Lobby Gallery
Artist Talk: Weds, November 12, 6 pm
Trustees Room, 3rd Floor
In my work, I use original photographs along with duplicated images from family
albums and archives. I print these images onto fabric, which I
then sew onto garments from different periods in American history.
By this process, I combine the documentary power of photography
with clothing's ability to reflect the times and circumstances
people live in. Also essential to my work are the fiber arts of
embroidery, beading and applique, which add to the creation of
a symbolic language.
