Internet Explorer

The Brooklyn Public Library uses the Internet Explorer browser on all of our computers.

To begin using the Internet open Internet Explorer by double-clicking on its icon:


If you are 17 or older and using the Internet at the library, you will see a window offering you the option of filtered versus unfiltered access. An Internet filter is meant to block visual depictions of obscenity, child pornography, or material defined as harmful to minors. It is your choice how you wish to proceed.

When Internet Explorer opens you will be at the Web site of the Brooklyn Public Library.

You can explore our site by placing the cursor over the areas you're interested in and clicking your left mouse button once.

To visit another site click once on the Address bar:

 

Type in the URL of the page you would like to visit and press enter. You will be taken to the Web page at that address.
