Resources on the BPL Web Site

Example of an Electronic Resources Search

Suppose you want information about asthma and how it’s affected by what you eat. Go to Electronic Resources and go into the health resources subject area. Click directly on Health/Medicine and Health Source: Consumer Edition.

Let's try a basic keyword search. The terms "asthma" and "diet" express the concepts in our topic: asthma and how it's affected by what you eat.

After you press Enter or click on Search, you will see all of the articles in the database that contain your search terms. Explore the results by clicking on the titles of the articles.

In this example, every result displayed here is available in some kind of full text. (Click here to find out what PDF means.) This means you can instantly view the entire article on your computer screen. You don’t even have to come to the library to see if we have a subscription to the journal!
