Park inspired songs, rhymes & fingerplays

There's a wide-eyed owl	Circle eyes with finger.
With a pointed nose	Make a triangle over nose with fingers.
He has pointed ears	Poke fingers up from ears.
And claws for toes	Make claws with fingers.
He sits in a tree	Hunch shoulders.
And looks at you	Circle eyes with fingers.
And flaps his wings	Flap arms.
And says "WHOO - WHOO - WHOO!"

Here is the beehive	Point to fist.
But where are the bees?
They're hiding inside where nobody sees	Point to fist.
Here they come creeping,
Out of the hive.
1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5	Open fist one finger at a time.
They're alive! BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!	Tickle child's arm or tummy.

A little frog in a pond am I,	Gently bounce baby on knee or lap in time to words.
Hippity hippity hop
And I can jump up in the air so high	Lift baby into air.
Hippity hippity hop

Slowly slowly slowly
Creeps the garden snail.	Creep fingers slowly up and down child's arm.
Slowly slowly slowly
Up the garden rail.
Quickly quickly quickly	Run fingers quickly up and down child's arm.
Runs the little mouse.
Quickly quickly quickly
All around the house!

Winking blinking, winking blinking	Open and shut fingers and thumb.
Fireflies at night
Winking blinking, winking blinking
See that little light?
First it's here, and now it's there	Open/close one hand, then the other.
And now it's out of sight,	Put hands behind back.
Winking blinking, winking blinking
Fireflies at night.
