Brooklyn Public Library, Central Library is one block from the Museum. The Central Library has a wonderful children's library which is not to be missed.

Brooklyn Botanic Garden is right next to the museum. This beautiful 52-arce garden includes the Discovery Garden for families as well as the Japanese Hill-and-Pond Garden, the Lily Terrace Pool and the famous C.V. Star Bonsai Museum.

Prospect Park includes an antique carousel that has 51 carved horses, a lion, a giraffe, a deer and two chariots pulled by dragons. The nation's first Audubon center is located in the historic Beaux-Arts Boathouse, surrounded by scenic nature trails.

Brooklyn Museum, right next door to the Botanic Garden, is the second-largest art museum in New York City and one of the largest in the country.

Brooklyn Children's Museum is the world's first museum just for children. Explore hands-on exhibits about world cultures and natural science.

Together with the Prospect Park Zoo, these organizations form a cultural partnership called the Heart of Brooklyn. The free Heart of Brooklyn Trolley operates on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
