Young Adult Literacy Program

Brooklyn Public Library's Enhanced Young Adult Literacy Program (EYALP), designed for 17 to 24 years of age, who would like to complete the high school equivalency exam and move ahead into higher education, job training and the workplace of their dreams. The mission of EYALP is to partner with young adults to cultivate literacy and numeracy foundations, move towards high school equivalency, and contextualize learning in growth industries – ranging from healthcare to hospitality and computer technology – to propel EYALP achievers towards satisfying and successful careers. 

The Enhanced Young Adult Literacy Program (EYALP) at the New Lots Library Adult Learning Center is a hybrid program. Learners are expected to attend classes in-person and remotely, 5 days a week from 10am to 2pm.

If you are a young adult and interested on obtaining your high school diploma with EYALP, you will need to complete the interest form.
