Need one-on-one personal reference assistance? Whether you need to research an assignment, find business, government, or medical information, search for an ancestor, or you would like an in-depth demonstration of how to use the library's databases, we can help you.

The Book a Librarian service allows you to reserve a free half hour session with a professional reference librarian at Central Library and the Business Library.

How It Works

• Appointments can be made Monday – Friday between 10 AM – 12 PM and between 2 – 5PM at Central Library.

• Appointments can be made Mondays or Fridays between 10 AM – 12 PM and 2 – 5PM and from 2 – 5PM on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays at the Business Library for Business related inquiries.

• Make an appointment with our online form.

• Please allow 1-2 days for a response, especially when submitting questions over the weekend.

• In order to provide the best possible service we highly recommend having a Brooklyn Public Library card. Get a library card.
