BPL Service to the Aging: Senior with Computer & BabyOlder Americans Month is a tradition recognizing the contributions and achievements of Older Americans. According to the 2010 census, one in every eight American is a senior citizen.

Service to the Aging has compiled a list of helpful links for seniors, caregivers, and anyone else who might need information pertaining to seniors and their caregivers.

We offer many special programs and events especially tailored for the 55+ audience. These include lectures, films, and performances that reflect the wide interests of today's seniors. We also provide:

Books-to-Go

Serving nursing homes, senior centers, and adult day-care centers, we supply seniors with reading and viewing materials. Included are books in English and other languages (some in large print); "Bi-Folkal Kits", a collection of memorabilia to spark discussion; and videos and audio books.

Books by Mail

postageA fast, convenient service that supplies books, books-on-tape, and videotapes to people who are homebound and have a print disability.

Nursing Homes, Senior Centers, and Residences

Service to the Aging brings our services out of the library and into street fairs and senior sites, including but not limited to senior residences, nursing homes, and hospices.

Words and Memories

Presented in nursing homes and other senior sites, Words and Memories is a program in which poetry, film, short stories, history and art inspire older adults to reminisce about their life experiences.
