In Your Own Words - Poetry, September 2006
Springtime confusions
what is right I wonder now
what is wrong I wonder how
to tell the difference in your heart
when life is pulling you apart
which way to go which way to turn
I wonder what to do, if I shall ever learn
how to tell the difference now
to live is to learn but how
do you trust your life to fate
or is that just some second rate
idea of a higher power
in April's springtime shower

- Dawn, 16

The Blanket
as the sun sets the life of day drains
replaced by creatures of the dark
the shadow cast upon the earth
as the warmth of day slowly gives way to
the cool of the autumn night
the clouds turn from white to gold
to the gray of the evening light
the earth left in the darkness of the moon
as one by one the stars shine through
the blanket of darkness

- Dawn, 16
