In Your Own Words - Poetry, December 2006
Loving You…
I shall not try to hold you down lest you slip away.
I shall not try to force you to come into my life and be a part of it.
I shall not try to possess you. I do not Own you.
You belong to the Universe.
I shall not try to bind you to me. You are free.
And in this way, I am free, too.
I shall only Love you from the depths of my Soul and let you go.
For I know, through the perfect ways of the Universe,
I shall look upon your angelic countenance once more,
And share with you the laughter and joy of friendship and love.

- Versha, 17

Discovery
Today I smiled and all at once
Things didn't look so bad.
Today I shared with someone else
A bit of hope I had.
Today I sang a little song
And felt my heart grow light.
And a happy little mile
With not a cloud in sight.
Today I worked with what I had
Nor longed for any more.
And what had seemed like only weeds
Were flowers at my door.
Today I loved a little more
Complained a little less.
And in the giving of myself
I forgot my weariness.

- Versha, 17

Untitled
life can seem so boring
life can seem so blue
to sit to wait
to wonder what to do

i have made some wrong choices
but what done is done
you were there
to help me when i had none

to see and to guide
you helped me find
a part of me
i left behind
