Artists on Site Residency: Ukrainian Weaving
Artist Halyna Shepko invites you to learn and explore the history of weaving in the Ukraine.
Halyna will take you on a journey throughout the country to compare the various regional weaving styles and explain the importance that weaving has, even to this day, in Ukrainian culture.
You will also be introduced to hands-on weaving techniques with the help of her looms. Participants are asked to bring a book to be used as a loom for a take home activity.
For more information, please call 718.368.1815 or go to bklynlibrary.org.
This program is supported, in part, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs.
