The CyPurr Collective is celebrating Library Privacy Week the only way they know how: a day of cybersecurity mini-workshops! They are breaking from their usual programming to give participants a bunch of quick little workshops on topics ranging from Mobile Security, Get to Know Your Terms of Service, Phishing, Passwords, Threat Modeling and more! If you're someone interested in getting into the basics of cybersecurity, this is the perfect event for you!
Come on by to meet n' greet with other folks and get some help with your tech needs! Snacks and children are welcome. Open to beginner and seasoned techies alike!
This event is one of many being offered as part of Library Privacy Week. Library Privacy Week is brought to you by NYC Digital Safety: Privacy & Security, a new initiative to bring resources covering digital privacy and data security to the City’s frontline public library staff. With support from the City of New York Mayor’s Office of the Chief Technology Officer, the project will ensure that NYC residents can rely on public libraries for their questions about internet privacy and security.
The CyPurr Collective is a group of tech-minded folks who are jazzed about cybersecurity, cats, and helping others out with their digital dilemmas. We offer workshops for activists, journalists, educators, and anyone who wants to learn more about bein’ safe on the Net.
