Origami teaches concentration, patience, and problem solving. The senbazuru, which is a group of 1,000 paper cranes, comes from an ancient Japanese legend that says a wish will be granted to anyone who folds a senbazuru. Learn about the art of paper-folding and brings some beautiful cranes home or decorate the library with them!

This program highlights themes that seek to foster good citizenship in young people via the Change Agents initiative. Change Agents is a Brooklyn Public Library initiative modeling empathy, inclusiveness, mutual respect, and understanding for the benefit of NYC youth.
