The world of animals presents an amazing diversity in the way that they’re adapted to the environment. The habitat an animal occupies provides food, water and shelter according to its specific needs. The extraordinary pattern of the tiger’s coat camouflages it when hiding in the grass. The ability of a hummingbird to hover while feeding. And powerful storm driven waves striking shore rocks and cliffs. Such experiences are what draws me to the subjects of animals and the world of nature.

Stephen S. Yaeger was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, where he acquired his interest in photography from his uncle, his interest in art from my brother and his interest in science and history from reading. Stephen is a U.S. Army veteran who earned a Masters in Science, as well as a certificate in educational supervision and administration. He’s worked as a high school science teacher, and authored a children’s book, Ian and the Woodins. Stephen is currently president of Rockaway Music and Arts Council, Inc. and an active member of the Brooklyn Watercolor Society, also serving as editor of its newsletter.
