It's official: The New York City Council adopted a budget that funds capital improvements and includes $33 million in additional operating funding for all of New York City’s public libraries!

This is a big win for Brooklyn’s libraries … and we owe this victory to you! Over 12,500 loyal patrons and library lovers like you sent letters urging city officials to increase funding for our libraries here in Brooklyn. Hundreds of you even called your council member's office directly.

This funding means we can continue offering essential services to everyone who walks through our doors. In this tough budget year, we could not be more grateful to our city leaders for prioritizing the critical role libraries play in every community.

Please join us as we thank Mayor de Blasio, Speaker Johnson and the City Council for their commitment to and investment in our libraries.

Dear Mayor de Blasio, Speaker Johnson, Majority Leader Cumbo, Libraries Chair Van Bramer, Finance Chair Dromm and your city council member
