BPL Presents classical interludes music

Ayane Kozasa and Melissa Reardon, violas and Raman Ramakrishnan and Paul Wiancko, cellos, perform works by Wiancko, Judd Greenstein, and others.

Hailed for her “magnetic, wide-ranging tone” and her “rock solid technique” (Philadelphia Inquirer), violist Ayane Kozasa enjoys a career that spans a broad spectrum of musical personas. Her commitment to pursue a life in viola led to a graduate degree from the Curtis Institute of Music as well as a Further Master’s Degree from the esteemed Kronberg Academy Masters School in Germany.

Grammy-nominated violist Melissa Reardon is a versatile performer whose playing spans all genres of the viola literature. A First Prize Winner of the Washington International Competition, and the only violist to win top prizes in consecutive HAMS International Viola Competitions, Melissa’s playing has been described as “elegant” and “virtuosic” (Classical Voice).

Raman Ramakrishnan is a founding member and current cellist of the Horszowski Trio. As a former founding member of the Daedalus Quartet, Mr. Ramakrishnan won the grand prize at the 2001 Banff International String Quartet Competition.

Paul Wiancko has led a multifaceted musical life as a cellist, composer, and collaborator. He has collaborated closely with Chick Corea, Jóhann Jóhannsson, Max Richter, Yo-Yo Ma, and members of Arcade Fire, The National, Pennywise, and the Guarneri and Juilliard Quartets.

This concert was curated by Peter Weitzner as part of BPL Chamber Players.
