Created in Brooklyn: A Series of Photographs and Conversations with Randy Duchaine
Randy Duchaine’s photographs are a tribute to the diversity of Brooklyn’s uniquely creative culture. The personalities and accomplishments of the borough’s artists and entrepreneurs, impresarios and innovators come to life in his photos. Join Duchaine in his seventh year hosting the series as he continues his conversations with individuals featured in his work. Hear them talk about their lives and passions as portrayed in Randy’s captivating photos.
The first program in the series will feature two food purveyors. The Meat Hook (owners pictured) is a butcher shop in Williamsburg that is part of the farm to table movement; they partner with local family run farms to offer high quality products in an unpretentious setting. Vincent Cutrone owns Octopus Garden, a specialty seafood market located on Avenue U and known to chefs like Eric Ripert of Le Bernadin as the go-to place for fresh octopus and cephalopods of all sorts.
Additional conversations in the series will take place on May 1 and June 5.
BPL’s Business & Career Center is generously supported by Dime Community Bank, Lead Funder of the PowerUP! Business Plan Competition, women.nyc, Dr. Beverly S. Jacobs, Ridgewood Savings Bank, Con Edison, ReferenceUSA, Elizabeth Crowell & Robert Wilson and Signature Bank.
