Green Design Lab
As part of Democracy Lab at the Spacebuster, architects present green and sustainable innovations in their building designs; audiences get to play with those same designs in an interactive display, which will include a "virtual reality tour of BPL's future Greenpoint Library and Environmental Education Center."
Participants include raumlaborberlin's Axel Timm, discussing the group's Floating University, Marble Fairbanks' Jason Roberts, Director, discussing Brooklyn Public Library’s Greenpoint Branch, and moderated by design historian, Daniella Ohad.
Dr. Daniella Ohad is a design historian, educator, tastemaker, producer, and writer, specializing in 20th Century and Contemporary Design Culture. She has taught in such institutions as the School of Visual Arts, Pratt Institute, and Parsons New School for Design, and currently at the New York School of Interior Design. Daniella lectures worldwide on design history, theory, collecting, and taste, while her articles and critiques have been published in magazines and peer-reviewed journals. She has hosted design events, curated private design collections, and has been a member of museums’ acquisition committees. Currently, she leads the world's first accredited course in Collecting Design at the New York School of Interior Design.
Jason Roberts, Organization Director, has been a key member of the Marble Fairbanks team since 2012. He has managed projects for clients at Brooklyn Public Library, New York Public Library, Hunter College, Lawrence University, Parsons School of Design, among others, and plays a key role in our development of customized parametric planning techniques best demonstrated in our work for Re-Envisioning Branch Libraries. As Organization Director, Jason manages the office building and construction standards, making sure all the key technical criteria and goals are met in the development of a project. He interfaces with the full project team, communicating with consultants, contractors, and clients to deliver design excellence.
